February 2026 Newsletter

A heart is made from loosely folded pages of a page with the text Love Your Library.

Love Your Library!

There is still time to make plans to attend our Galentine’s Night Purse Bingo on February 7 by purchasing tickets online or reserving your seats to pay at the library or at the door. Early-bird pricing is $30 for 14 regular games, and special games can be purchased at the event. Bingo is a major fundraiser for APL, so grab your crew and have a great night celebrating the warmth of friendship. We all need one now with all this cold and snow!

We also have a Diners’ Delight Raffle Basket going on now that will finish at Bingo. Raffle tickets are $10 for a chance to win a gift basket that includes gift certificates to The Belvedere, The Whip Tavern, and Longwood Gardens, free admission to Longwood Gardens, wonderful Swiss chocolates and more. Tickets must be purchased with cash or check at the Library, through a Trustee, or at Bingo. The winning ticket will be pulled at Bingo. The winner need not be present to win.

As Atglen Public Library grows and offers more programs and services, traditional funding remains stagnant. You can help with an automatic, tax-deductible monthly donation through our secure payment portal. Enter the amount you wish to give monthly, then click the “monthly” button when you check out. For the price of a latte, you can help sustain your library!

Annual Customer Satisfaction Survey

We value your voice and want to hear from you! Our annual Customer Satisfaction Survey is open and will be available until February 27th.  Please take a few short minutes to let us know how we can continue to support our communities in the best ways possible. Take the survey now!

NextReads Returns!

We’re happy to share that the Chester County Library System (CCLS) subscription to NextReads newsletters is coming back! Monthly NextReads book suggestion newsletters will resume in February, with New York Times Bestsellers newsletters returning January 20th. If you were subscribed as of October 2025, you’ll automatically begin receiving your newsletters again over the next month or two. You may subscribe for additional newsletters, too.

Candid Foundation Directory now available at all Member Libraries

Previously available only at Chester County Library-Exton, Chester County Library System now provides access to Candid’s database Foundation Directory Online Professional (FDOP) at all CCLS member libraries through funding generously granted by Chester County Community Foundation. Nonprofits and individuals can research available grants and scholarships, as well as research nonprofits they are evaluating for a donation. Atglen Public Library has earned a Platinum Seal of Transparency through Candid, providing information to the public and potential funders.

Kanopy movie and documentary streaming

Beginning February 3, access to Kanopy streaming service will feature Kanopy Kids and Family Favorites. Kanopy provides access to your favorite educational series for children, as well as great movies for the whole family, all free with your library card!
