Library Cards Hit All the Right Notes This September
This September, Atglen Public Library and the Chester County Library System (CCLS) join the American Library Association (ALA) in celebrating Library Card Sign-Up Month, a national campaign highlighting how a library card opens doors to learning, creativity, and community connection.
A library card provides access to books, digital media, research databases, study spaces, programs for all ages, and tools that support academic success, job readiness, and lifelong learning. This year’s theme, “A Library Card Hits All the Right Notes,” underscores that libraries offer something for everyone—whether you’re discovering a new passion, building skills, or finding harmony in a welcoming community space.
CCLS Board President William F. Connor shares that libraries are places where possibilities begin, noting that CCLS’s work is guided by three essential ideas: Access, Learning, and Connection. He emphasized that the system is proud to serve the residents of Chester County and grateful for the continued support that allows its 16 member libraries and 2 branches to thrive. Together, he said, these core values help “open doors to possibilities for everyone.”
